Lexa Hartwell is a fiction/fantasy author. Growing up, she found it easy to slip into another world when she was reading or writing a story. After writing countless stories all her life, she finally decided to share them with the world. This blog will host info about the first book in her series: Throne of Blood and Shadow. As well as sneak peaks into Throne of Ice and Ash, which was released in March 2024. She loves to create worlds full of magic and characters with a lot of bravery, heart and grit. She invites anyone who is willing, to fall into a story with her.

- What’s the most surprising thing you learned while writing your book Throne of Blood and Shadow?
- “How difficult it is to describe fantasy clothing with detail.”
- Which location in the book would you most like to visit and why?
- “I’d love to visit The Healers Guild of Telas.”
- What was the most pivotal point in Throne of Blood and Shadow, was there a point you thought things should go differently?
- “The most pivotal point is Astriea in the Witch Hunters camp. This is a point where she has let go of mortal morality and embraces the power she carries with more confidence and determination. She plays on a different field now.”
- Who is your favorite character from each book?
- “Throne of Blood and Shadow-Seraphina, Throne of Ice and Ash- Vera”
- What was the most challenging part to write in each book?
- “Heartbreak scenes, though they’re not challenging per se, but they do make me sit back as an author and question if it’s morally wrong for me to do what I’m doing to my characters.”
- What advice would you give someone writing their first fantasy novel?
- “Write the book. You can make it pretty and legible and lovely later. Write the book.”
